1.5 hours South of Brisbane, just across the New South Wales border and away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast you find this little gem. I wouldn’t be surprised if most Brisbaner’s never heard about this little spot, it surely went under my radar for a long period, but trust me when I say Hastings Point will be your new favorite.
Hastings points combines Byron Bay style nature but without the tourists and a more relaxed atmosphere. The rough ocean is popular for surfers and kite surfers while the river is perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking.
During school holidays you can camp on the Hasting Point Headland, just bring sand plugs cause it can get windy (We learnt that the hard way).
